Assisted Living
The independence you want, the support you need.
Our Assisted Living program of supported independence provides help with daily tasks that have become difficult.
Residences are designed specifically to meet the needs of older people. Residents personalize their Assisted Living homes by furnishing and decorating them as they wish.
Assisted Living services include:
- A private apartment with kitchenette in a home-like setting
- Assistance with activities of daily living
- Trained, caring staff available 24-hours a day
- 3 delicious meals a day
- Laundry and housekeeping services
- Medication management
- Access to clinic and nursing services
- On-going monitoring of health care needs
- Life enrichment activities and outings
- Access to all El Castillo amenities & programs
Associate Residents
On a limited basis, we accommodate “associate residents” in our Assisted Living and Nursing Care units. There is no entrance fee for Associate Resident, but they are assessed monthly fees competitive with those charged at other facilities.
There may be tax advantages for El Castillo residents as several IRS rulings have established that a portion of a LifeCare community monthly service fees are deductible as prepaid medical expense. These health care tax deductions are only available through LifeCare communities such as El Castillo. As always, you should discuss your individual tax situation with your personal tax advisor. In addition, you do not pay State of New Mexico gross receipts tax on El Castillo services.
