History
El Castillo has been Santa Fe’s only LifeCare Community since 1971. We are a not-for-profit corporation that is governed by a local board of directors who work with the staff and residents to promote and maintain a high level of life satisfaction for all members of our community.
As a LifeCare community, we provide a continuum of care: Independent Living, Assisted Living and Nursing Care on site. In exchange for an entrance fee and monthly service fees, residents are secure in knowing they may have a permanent home for the rest of their lives.
On a limited basis, we accommodate “associate residents” in our Assisted Living and Nursing Care units. Associate residents do not pay an entrance fee, but pay monthly fees comparable to those charged at other Santa Fe facilities.
There are specific financial and tax advantages to choosing LifeCare retirement at El Castillo, including the possible tax-deductibility of some fees. Click here for Frequently Asked Questions about this topic.
Whether it’s participating in El Castillo activities, enjoying a delicious meal in our lovely dining room or just sitting and reading in one of our beautifully landscaped courtyards, our residents feel safe and at home. Our proximity to the Plaza and the multitude of downtown amenities make El Castillo ideal for those who enjoy eating out, shopping and cultural events.
